Back to School

All three kids are back in school now and all are at new schools for the first time. James has started Junior High School. They are given tests to decide which class they will be in, but we were in America for the tests and so they said they would give it to him when he got back. When we got back we found we had a new student at the kindergarten and both his parents taught at the junior high James would be going too. One was the basketball coach as well. When we called about the test, they said that they just decided to assign him to a class and he wouldn't need to take the test. Well it seems that he was assigned to the class of this new student's mother. We didn't want to mention anything about the basketball because his parents hadn't registered yet and we didn't want to influence their decision, but once school started we found out that they already knew about James and had made plans. We mentioned to the coach that James was interested in playing ball and we wondered how they looked at the grades. He said it is easy, their homeroom teacher can decide if they are doing well enough to practice or not. My wife asked how he would know and his reply shocked us, "Don't worry, he is in my wife's class and we will take good care of him." So James was okay. Michael got transferred to his third school. We wanted to get him back into his original school, but they had no space and so we put him in a little school by our house. He is very happy. I have to say that I was worried, because I felt he really liked baseball, but he is okay with the decision. We love all they have done for him, but the type of kids who play baseball in this city aren't really know for their manners or their study habits and so we felt it was in his best interest to leave the team. Finally, because the relative that had been taking care of Elizabeth was expecting to become a grandma and would need to take care of that new baby we decided to see if Elizabeth could handle going to school. She has done a great job. She does sometimes run out of the classroom to go find her mommy and daddy, but most of the time she is doing really well. So now just about everything is in full swing. Was the University starts classes on the 15th everything will be back to normal
