Well I know that a lot of you have been waiting a long time for these pictures. I wish they could have come a little sooner, but things didn't work out the way we expected. Let me tell you the story of our own little miracle. We first went to the hospital on Tuesday morning around 6:30. After spending a few minutes at the hospital we were sent home. I thoroughly expected that I would be going back sometime that day. I almost made it through all of my classes, but during my Church History institute class I received a phone call and it was back to the hospital. This time we were admitted and it was just a matter of when. Finally after a few hours we finally were pushed into the delivery room. We had hoped that she would be a Leo and she cooperated enough to wait until after midnight. In the delivery room things started out smoothly. After two pushes Elizabeth came out at 2:28 A.M. on the morning of the 23rd. Then the first problem begin. My wife's placenta did not discharge like it was supposed to. The doctor didn't not tell us that there was a problem, but he did reach into her womb with his hands and pulled the placenta out. When this happened a great deal of blood came out as well. Jennifer then spent the next 6 hours in the recovery room as they continued to observe the bleeding. In all Jennifer lost over a fourth of her blood in her body. Finally the doctor came in and said that there is an available medicine but that the insurance doesn't cover it. We tried it and before long the bleeding began to stop. We came to find out that most people who have this problem normally bleed to death. However, we were inspired to find the one doctor in Taiwan that not only had the medicine available but was willing to use it. The hospital we were at is the only hospital in all of Taiwan that has the medicine. So if we were to have gone anywhere else we probably would have lost our wife and mother. Over the next couple of days Jennifer started to get stronger, but our second problem occurred. Elizabeth was born about 17 days early. She was also a little small. She weighed 2.6 kilograms or for those of you who don't understand metric she was 5 pounds 12 ounces. Over the next few days she begin to loose weight. We wanted to breastfeed her, but because of Jennifer's condition she still didn't have any milk. Finally the doctor asked us to check her back into the hospital because she had fallen below 5 pounds. One night while trying to feed her she just looked at us with rolled eyes and we began to wonder if we would now lose her. With the help of some loving nurses we were able to build up a little strength. She is now above 5 pounds and getting stronger every day. Finally our last trial came when we got hit by one of the strongest typhoons in several years with our family scattered. Jennifer, Elizabeth and I were in the hospital while our boys were staying with their aunt. We were sure how they were doing, but the storm past and we were finally reunited. We are grateful for our lovely Heavenly Father's blessings and for sending us a little angel. Thus on September 7, 2008 we will give her the name of Elizabeth Angelica Saunders. Thanks for all your prayers.

That is quite the story. I had no idea that you had so many complications. I am glad that all is going well now and we will continue to pray for a sustained recovery. Elizabeth is so cute with so much hair; where did you get the middle name Angelica?
It is funny cause your blog is the same design as ours, at least until we come up with a better idea.
